At Veeam On Tour Austria<\/strong> last week, I picked up a fun little piece of IT history:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

what might have been the world\u2019s first hacker attack happened all the way back in 1989<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A well-intentioned biologist distributed \u201cAIDS Information\u201d floppy disks at a medical conference \u2014 only for recipients to find that the disks also installed ransomware on their computers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Whether or not it truly counts as the first cyberattack, it\u2019s a great reminder of how far we\u2019ve come. Back then, the damage was minimal and mostly academic. Today, attacks are industrialized, automated, and capable of taking entire businesses offline. Which is exactly why keeping your disaster recovery systems<\/strong> modern, tested, and evolving isn\u2019t just good practice \u2014 it\u2019s essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veeam Backup for M365 8.x in use?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you deployed or upgraded to Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v8.0<\/strong> last year, chances are your NATS Server is still running v2.10.18<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While VB365 continues to support this version, it is recommended to update to v2.10.28<\/strong>. Why? Because the latest version comes with a bundle of bug fixes and improvements.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
